From The Beginning
My journey as a photographer began in 2008 when I received a camera the previous Christmas a brand new HP Photosmart M540 point and shoot and as soon as I received it I began snapping photos mainly self-portraits all while wearing Victorian Era clothing. My hair was a bit longer than, my body a really skinny and now upon looking back on these photos I see that I imagined myself as kind of a would be romantic poet or Victorian aesthete it was indeed a more simpler time but in many ways I am glad that I am not that age anymore not that I regretted that period in my life or anything like that but as I have gotten older I find myself more in control of my emotions and more disciplined if you will not so willing to make a mountain out of a mole hill as they say. However, this was none the less an interesting time and the photos I took then seem to show a fresh faced innocence. It is also worth noting that around this time that I began experimenting with what I termed “low-budget” fine art photos done in the style of my first photographic inspiration F. Holland Day which are showcased towards the bottom.
So without further adieu here is the beginning
